Happy Monday friends! I hope you all had an amazing weekend filled with lots of left overs from thanksgiving, holiday shopping and holiday decorating! I was lucky and had Thanksgiving off this year but had to work all weekend… normally this would’ve made me a little sad but because I flew to Providence, Rhode Island late Friday and didn’t have to leave until late in the day Saturday I was able to meet up with an old friend which made me very happy!
In Providence I stayed at the NYLO hotel. This was my first time staying at a NYLO and I still can’t decide how I felt about it… this hotel was VERY modern. The beds are super comfortable but the floor is cement and the layout of the room wasn’t as functional as I’m used to experiencing at other chains. The NYLO in Warwick, Rhode Island near the Providence airport had a really fun looking bar/restaurant with a huge outdoor patio I hope to experience once the weather warms up. Since my friend picked me up this visit however I didn’t explore the amenities of the hotel much.
I had only been to Newport, Rhode Island once before and that visit was for a wedding that didn’t leave a lot of time for exploring. My friend picked me up from my hotel early Saturday and we spent the ENTIRE day exploring Newport. What an adorable little town!! We had brunch at The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar. To start our meal we had their famous “bag of donuts” which aren’t actually donuts at all… they’re the most delicious seafood fritters you’ll ever try! (Pictured above ^^^) We spent the rest of our time together shopping all the cute boutiques, I bought some delicious Mint-Chilla Chai-Nilla tea at The Spice & Tea Exchange.
Sunday I flew through Chicago where the airport is fully decorated for the holidays. I ended up in Pittsburgh where I’ve spent a lot of time recently. I need to get out of the hotel on one of these visits but because I stay at the Double Tree that’s cozy, has a great restaurant and very nice gym I haven’t had a reason to leave yet! I love the Double Tree cookies they always give you when you check in
I hope everyone has a great week and get’s all their decorations up!!
