A WEEKEND IN COLORADO
Hi friends! Good morning and happy Monday! I got to spend this past weekend in the beautiful and sunny state of Colorado! My mom and I met at the Denver airport Saturday morning and had the BEST weekend exploring The Centennial State.
It’s not often you get a rental car and love it so much you want to rush back home to trade your car in… this fun little fiat was my FAVORITE rental car I’ve ever had! We raced up to the mountains to get as much skiing in as we could. We chose to go to Loveland because it’s one of the closest resorts to Denver and their half day tickets were the best deal in the area! After some of the chilliest runs we’d ever taken we were ready for a snack and we thought hot chocolate. The ladies in the shop recommended we head down to Idaho Springs and check out the Tommyknocker Brewery. Neither my mom or I are really beer drinkers but Tommyknocker’s had a delicious Tundrabeay beer which we decided was about as good as any hot chocolate we’ve ever had – their beer battered mushrooms were also excellent!
Sunday morning, we woke up and headed across town to try out the famous donuts at Glazed and Confused. I had read about this shop on a list of the 21 Best Donuts Shops in America. I now have a goal of trying the other 20 shops on this list! We tried the blueberry fritter, root beer float and samoa donuts.
I hope everyone has a great week!
