LEXINGTON to NY IN A WEEKEND
Hi friends! Happy Monday! After this weekend I take back everything I said about it really starting to feel like spring… It was 30 degrees in Lexington when I woke up there on Saturday morning… snowing in Detroit when I passed through and in the hills of New York there’s still a lot of ICE! More about that later…
As I said before, I woke up in Lexington, Kentucky Saturday morning to some very chilly temperatures. Friday night in Lexington had been the perfect evening to treat myself to some good southern comfort food and while having a drink at HopCat the bartender had recommended we eat dinner down the street at The Village Idiot. We took his advice and boy I am happy we did, I often think it’s silly to order Mac & Cheese at a restaurant but this wasn’t just Mac & Cheese, this was PULLED PORK Mac & Cheese made with local pork barbecue and Lexington Pasta Co. Rigatoni. If you find yourself anywhere near Lexington, go treat yourself to this goodness, I can’t wait to go eat it again!
Saturday evening I got back from work just in time to rush down to Time Square and catch a broadway show I’ve been dying to see… An American in Paris!! This was unlike any Broadway show I’ve ever seen, almost more like a ballet. The story was so sweet and if you find yourself in New York City anytime soon I can’t recommend it enough!
We woke up early Sunday and headed to the Catskills for an early season hike. Thankfully we had our MicroSpikes that I had mentioned in my post on Friday or we probably would not have been able to make it to the top of this mountain. If you’re looking for a challenging hike closer to NYC than the ones in the Adirondacks then this is the perfect hike for you! The views were spectacular and the trail was not crowded at all.
How was your weekend?!
I hope everyone has a great week!!
