If you’re looking for a remote beautiful island for your honeymoon, look no further than The Seychelles! For the second half of our honeymoon we flew to Mahe Island, the largest island of The Seychelles.
We didn’t know anyone that had gone to the Seychelles so chose to stay at the Kempinski Resort because of it’s great reviews. We loved our time at this resort, it was VERY relaxing but because we enjoy a little adventure we ended up renting a car and driving around the island on our second day there.
During our time at the resort we had fun taking a guided snorkel trip to the “fish cave,” running the trails, laying on the beach, kayaking with the free kayaks the resort offers, checking out their giant tortoises and enjoying the excellent food at their various restaurants.
During our day we spent driving around the island we first stopped at the Botanical Garden to see the famous coco de mer trees that are native to The Seychelles and whose fruits produce the largest seed in the plant kingdom (just a little fun fact for you!) as well as the Aldabra giant tortoises that are also native to the islands. We have a pet tortoise so seeing these giant tortoises were top on our list of things to do while visiting, the Kempinski Resort has a few of their own but the Botanical Garden has more of them, they seem healthier, and are much bigger!
